About Us

Katie Humilde - Co-Founder

I am a registered psychologist with a Master’s degree in School and Applied Child Psychology and over three decades of experience working in mental health, education, and community settings. In all of these settings I have seen a lot of humans being human, and I welcome and seek to foster space for just that!

My practice is grounded in an experiential, family-focused approach and guided by the principles of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I have received extensive training in EFCT, EFFT, and EFIT, and continue to engage in regular supervision and consultation within the amazing international EFT community.

I began my work life leaning into my love of kids at all ages and stages. I have been a teacher, and I initially studied School and Child Psychology to focus on assessments. I hoped this would support me to better understand and support kiddos with unique struggles. I appreciate that training and it did broaden my understanding of people in many areas. However, I have come to believe the best way I can help kids is to support their families.

When parents have what they need, they are best suited to know and support kids’ mental health needs.

I am continually blown away by the drive inside the parents I meet. I bring a deep, integrative understanding of human development, emotion, and attachment to my clinical work.

Angela Bishop - Co-Founder

I am a registered psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists.  I have been in practice since 2014, and through that time I have honed my skills to focus on family and relationship dynamics.

Stepping into relationship therapy can be a vulnerable moment for everyone involved. A lot is at stake. When I see adult partners - it’s not just their relationship, but typically the lives they’ve built together.  My first goal is always to build an experience of trust and safety. I am with you in this process, and I have many years of helping clients steady themselves through stormy periods.

I use emotionally focused therapy with relationships and individuals because it allows us to tap into the powerful attachment system that is inherent in all humans - regardless of past or present distresses. We will engage with old patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that keep us distant from ourselves and loved ones. By moving through this process, clients often experience a sense of clarity. This clarity allows them the emotional balance they need to start building new and deeper connections within themselves and with their loved ones.  This is hard work, but it is where true healing happens.
